Connecting the Trailer Industry Throughout North America

In the summer of 1990, a small group of independent semi-trailer dealers established an organization to strengthen what the founders said was a neglected voice in the trailer industry. Named the National Trailer Dealers Association (NTDA), the NTDA held its first annual meeting in Memphis, TN in the fall of 1990. Since its establishment, the Association has maintained a solid membership. Today, the NTDA has Dealer and Allied member companies throughout North America.

Each year, the Association hosts an annual convention featuring dealer-specific education, Allied member new product presentations and literature displays, networking opportunities, a golf tournament, and more. Members have access to information resources about important industry issues including regulations, legislation and Federal Excise Tax; print and electronic newsletters, dealer benchmarking studies, money-saving programs, and advertising and marketing opportunities. New programs and services are introduced on a regular basis to benefit members and the industry as a whole.

As the only voice and organization for independent semi-trailer dealers, NTDA members benefit collectively from what no individual company could achieve on its own.

The NTDA provides knowledge and resources that bring value to member companies by:

  • Influencing and improving the economic and regulatory environments affecting the trailer industry
  • Educating members on critical industry news, issues and trends
  • Broadening the management skills of member employees to help promote company growth
  • Providing a forum for communication among all industry segments
  • Encouraging safety on public highways
  • Promoting the general goodwill and public relations of independent (new and used) semi-trailer dealers nationwide
  • Advocating high standards of industry service and conduct.
