The 2010 NTDA Scholarship Program provides one $7,000 scholarship to an NTDA member company employee or the child of an employee to help further his or her education.

What is the purpose of the scholarship and who can apply? The purpose is to award one scholarship annually to an employee of an NTDA member company or their child to assist in furthering his/her education at an accredited, degree-granting educational institution.
What is the scholarship amount? Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions and Meritor WABCO generously agreed to underwrite the scholarship in the amount of $7,000.
How do I apply? Download the scholarship form (see above) or call 1-800-800-4552 to request a copy of the form. Letters of recommendation, transcripts and/or other supporting materials must be submitted to the NTDA by the deadline.
When is the recipient announced each year? The recipient will receive a phone call and a letter by mail from the NTDA once the judging process has been completed.
What are the judging criteria? Criteria include academic capabilities, financial need, personal and school references, participation in school and community activities, and work experience. Criteria are evaluated using a weighted scoring system, with financial need receiving 50% of the total consideration. Academic and community activities are given equal weighting/consideration.
What if my application is late or I cannot submit all of the required materials? Incomplete or late entries will not be considered. Each applicant is responsible for gathering and submitting all information necessary to complete the application, including high school or college transcripts and letters of recommendation.
Are letters of recommendation required? You/your child may ask a high school counselor, college advisor, instructor or supervisor to complete the Applicant Appraisal section or you may submit three letters of recommendation.
Is the scholarship renewable? The scholarship is granted as a one-time award to the recipient. The scholarship is not renewable.
