NTDA to Host Networking Receptions During MATS; Truck World Canada
The NTDA will host a Networking Reception on Thursday, March 22 from 5:30 p.m.–7:30 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza Louisville Airport,
which is adjacent to the
Kentucky Expo Center, during the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS). Also be sure to visit NTDA Booth #40568 March 22–24, 2012. The NTDA will also host a Networking Reception on Thursday, April 19 at the International Centre in Toronto in conjunction with Truck World Canada. Visit NTDA Booth #3914 April 19–21.

Submit a New Tagline for the Association for a Chance to Win a $200 Visa Gift Card
Now that the NTDA has launched its new look, we need your help. Submit a new tagline to replace the old tagline, "The Voice of the Semi-trailer Industry." Mark Your Calendar for the NTDA's 22nd Annual Convention

Bureau of Transportation Statistics Releases Pocket Guide to Transportation 2012

The Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS), a part of the Research and Innovative Technology Administration (RITA), has published the Pocket Guide to Transportation 2012 – a quick reference guide to significant transportation data. The 15th annual Pocket Guide covers data on transportation safety, state of good repair, system use and performance, economic competitiveness, and environmental sustainability. FMCSA Amends Harmonizing Schedule I Drug Requirements
Friday, January 27, 2012 

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) amends the physical qualifications for drivers and the instructions for the medical examination report to clarify that drivers may not use Schedule I drugs and be qualified to drive commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) under any circumstances. The rule harmonizes FMCSA’s provisions regarding pre-employment and return-to-duty test refusals with corresponding Department of Transportation (DOT)-wide provisions. Finally, the rule corrects inaccurate uses of the term “actual knowledge.”
