The NTDA underwrites its Federal Excise Tax (FET) Hotline as a benefit to answer your questions and to help your company stay compliant with federal regulations.

As an NTDA member, you can call the NTDA's FET Hotline at 1-800-800-4552 Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm(est). Get answers to your FET-related questions, such as:

• What is the proper application of the tire tax credit?
• Are my interstate retail sales of trailers subject to excise tax?
• Are trailer and chassis considered separate units and if so do they carry separate tax liabilities?
• If we sell a trailer within six months of its purchase, is the sale subject excise tax?
